Those of you who are familiar with Gentoo know that its strength comes from Portage, the package management system that allows you to flip software features on and off during compile time.  The main portage tree contains thousands of applications, and members of the community have created their own ebuilds for the applications that the core portage tree is missing.

Arces maintains a portage overlay for the applications we've had to install Gentoo systems we manage for ourselves or our clients.  This overlay is available for you to clone from our Git repository and is also available through Layman by adding the 'arces' repository.
